Are you inspired by colour, shapes, textures, and transforming rooms into places people love? The Interior Decorating and Visual Display vocational diploma provides you with the opportunity to develop the skills, tools, and industry know-how to turn that passion into a rewarding profession.

This 16-month (1800-hour) program blends hands-on creativity with practical business and technical skills. You’ll explore interior decorating principles, colour theory, space planning, and visual merchandising — all while building a professional portfolio that sets you apart in the design world.

Students can also further their education after completing this program in the CEGEP Programs.

What You’ll Learn

This program is designed to help you develop the real-world skills employers want, provide you with the opportunity to build your portfolio, as well as the foundation to start your own business. You’ll learn:

• Creative Design Fundamentals: colour, texture, lighting and furniture combinations
• Technical & Visual Skills: freehand sketching, technical plans and 3D modelling
• Professional Decorating & Display: residential and commercial projects, window and event displays
• Client Relations & Business Skills: client consultations, presentations, selling ideas, and small business essentials
• Software Skills:
• AutoCAD – industry-standard drafting and plan documentation
• SketchUp – intuitive 3D modelling for interior spaces
• 2020 Design – specialized software for kitchens, baths and detailed presentations

• Program Fees: There are no tuition or registration fees; however there are school fees which are approximately $422 and includes essential personal materials required for the program.
