The School Daycare Educator program covers various topics that focus on pre-school and school-age children’s development. The program also focuses on the creation and organization of activities while keeping the children safe. The program is offered part-time, two evenings per week.
We provide you with hands-on and guided training. Your learning time will be spent in practical workshops, working in teams, and under the leadership of our seasoned teaching staff. Our teaching philosophy is focused on problem solving and learning by doing. We complement our classroom learning with our student placement in a school daycare, which will allow you to apply your skills in a real world setting.
Upon completion of this course you will be qualified to work in-school daycares. This course does not guarantee a position within LBPSB.
Duration of 16 months. Classes are Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm - 9:30pm.
Please be aware that there are no classes during March Break, 2 weeks at Christmas or during the summer months.
Students must have access to a laptop or desktop at home with a camera, and access to WIFI for the online portion.
