Our accredited Effects Technical Director (FX TD) Diploma is an intensive 12 month program, preparing you to work within Effects (FX) departments on high end feature film & episodic visual effects (VFX) productions. This program is the first of its kind, unparalleled in the depth of its highly specialized knowledge. The curriculum also complements core craft skills by training students in advanced Houdini workflows while developing problem solving, time management, and career soft skills setting a foundation for long term career success. In the final two months of the program, students will have the unique opportunity to partake in a Practicum and are placed into one of the many world class visual effects studios found within Montreal’s growing industries

A person who has received instruction considered sufficient by the college and meets any of the following conditions may be admitted to a program of studies leading to an Attestation of College Studies:
(1) the person has interrupted his or her full-time studies or pursued full-time postsecondary studies for at least 2 consecutive terms or 1 school year;
(2) the person is covered by an agreement entered into between the college and an employer or by a government program of studies;
(3) the person has interrupted his or her full-time studies for one term and pursued full-time postsecondary studies for one term;
and
MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEW – In-person or skype – personal statement;
PORTFOLIO / DEMO REEL: The applicant’s portfolio should be 6-8 pieces of their work in any medium, and can include drawing, life drawing, comic or graphic design, photography, painting, sculpture, graphic or website design, and any 2D or 3D computer imagery. Original work will not be returned, photocopies or prints are preferred. Links to websites or online portfolios are encouraged;
6 ENGLISH PROFICIENCY - All instruction at Campus d’Effets Visuels / Lost Boys - Montreal is conducted in English and therefore all students are required to speak and comprehend English at an acceptable level for the programs. Students will need to be able to understand technical terms and participate in presentations and discussion.
