The purpose of the Executive Assistant program is to train qualified employees who can take over certain tasks from the manager, solve problems, manage office staff and produce various documents in an expert manner. The program also informs students about the work of an assistant in the greater Montreal area and prepares them to find a job by teaching them the appropriate attitude and job search techniques.

Fonctions de travail

An executive assistant is an employee who supports a manager, works to solve problems, participates in the management of employees, more particularly office employees that s/he is responsible for, and is an expert in the production of documents. The executive assistant is usually considered to have a management role as s/he is part of the management team. Her/his role goes way beyond that of a document production specialist.

Conditions d'admission et préalables

Ministerial admission requirements (Article 4 of the RREC):

A person who has an education deemed sufficient by the college and who meets one of the following conditions is eligible for a study program leading to an Attestation of College Studies:

(1) she has interrupted her studies for at least 2 consecutive sessions or 1 school year;

(2) she is covered by an agreement entered into between the college and an employer or she benefits from a government program;

(3) she has pursued, for a period of at least 1 year, post-secondary studies.

(4) she holds a vocational studies diploma.

 


Special admission conditions:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- To have training as a secretary or work experience of at least 1 year in the field of document production. 

- Have a sufficient level of French

-  Have a sufficient level of English

-  Pass the motivational interview

Particularités et remarques

The training is delivered over two course sessions followed, according to the student's choice, by a 285 hours-long internship or professional integration project.

This program is also offered in French.

Since they contribute to opening favorable job prospects in the greater Montreal area to our graduates, the AEC programs of the INSA School of Management appear in the Directory of full-time training programs that can be financed by the government of Quebec. We invite you to contact your local employment center or your Services Québec office. An employment assistance officer will assess your eligibility and, if necessary, authorize your registration if you meet the admission requirements for the program of your choice. You could obtain financial assistance from the Government of Quebec and reimbursement of costs related to training.
