Program Highlights:

This is your opportunity to gain certification in a hybrid format (classes online, exams in person). The program is a supportive environment designed for adult learners.

• 390-hour program with internship (stage) at the end of the program in a school daycare
• 9 hours a week (9 hours of online class, exams in person)
• Completion the program by October 31, 2027.
• Evening classes three times per week: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
• Hybrid format: Most classes are online, but some in-person attendance is required (Day 1, exams, and other dates communicated in advance)
• Practical, experience-based learning through workshops, teamwork, and guided instruction
• Focus on child development, safety, activity planning, and creating inclusive, engaging environments for preschool and school-age children

By the end of the program, you will be qualified to work in school daycare settings. While successful completion of the program qualifies you to work in this field, please note that it does not guarantee employment within the Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB).

Schedule & Calendar:

• No classes during Christmas Break (2 weeks), March Break, or the summer break (no classes from the end of June to beginning of September 2027)
• A detailed calendar will be provided on your first day

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (prerequisites apply – please contact the Centre for full details)
• Access to a laptop or desktop computer with a camera and reliable Wi-Fi connection
• Chrome web browser recommended
• You will be asked to attend an online information session to learn more about the program and the internship requirements before starting classes.
