Tradeswomen Trailblazers

Through the series of portraits Tradeswomen Trailblazers, Compétences Québec, in partnership with the Gouvernement du Québec’s Secrétariat à la condition féminine, wishes to highlight 24 women who have chosen to pursue a career in a traditionally male-dominated trade.

Working in one of the 251 occupations classified as non-traditional for women in Québec, on construction sites or in mechanics, as carpenters or welders, these women are shining examples of success stories.

This project aims to highlight their journey, push us to think about co-education in vocational and technical training and, who knows, maybe even inspire others to follow in their footsteps. Promoting women working in traditionally male-dominated trades starts here! Spread the word and share these portraits with as many people as possible!
