Objectifs du programme

Business management technicians will develop the responsibilities of managing a business or supervising a commercial sales team in a commercial establishment or company.

Those managing businesses work mainly in retail or wholesale, as well as businesses and specialized services in product sales services. The emplyees can be either salaried workers or independant contractors. In retail businesses, they hold a manager's title, in wholesale or specialized services, they usually hold a title of sales team supervisor.

The main responsibilities for a business management technician are to manage sales personnel, to attain sales objectives, to promote and market products or services, to acquire stocks as well as to assure customer service. As well as being responsible for the business or the sales team, these same people are sometimes called to participate in the sales of products and services.

Total length of training includes general training that is common to all programs for 420 hours, general training for this program for 150 hours as well as complementary general training courses for 90 hours.


Duration of training consists of theory and lab work for courses; personal time that the student invests is excluded.

Gérant de commerces de détail

Les gérantes et les gérants de commerce embauchent et forment le personnel de vente, gèrent les horaires et assignent les tâches. Ils assurent le service à la clientèle et le suivi des activités : achats, ventes, inventaire, etc. Dans le cadre de leurs fonctions, ils peuvent avoir à effectuer la promotion et la mise en marché de produits et de services ou encore à analyser et traiter des données commerciales. C’est un métier stimulant, mais qui implique d’être capable de travailler sous pression et en équipe. Une carrière comme gérant de commerce demande des habiletés en leadership et en négociation ainsi qu’une bonne capacité d’analyse et de synthèse.
