Pulp mill machine operators, commonly referred to as papermakers, operate machinery used to supply and transform wood into paper (such as screening equipment, bleaching equipment, digesters, mixing tanks, and washers). They set automated controls and monitor the transformation process of wood into pulp. As part of their duties, they may perform general maintenance on machinery, take samples, and perform chemical tests on products. This is an occupation in the industrial sector that is suited to people with good manual dexterity and excellent vision.
