Refrigeration mechanics, commonly known as refrigerationists, install, maintain and repair refrigeration and air-conditioning components (such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, chill tanks, refrigerated display cases, etc.). They install and weld pipework for refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, set up systems and electronic control settings and test installations for leaks. It’s a job that requires problem solving in a constantly changing field. A career as a refrigeration mechanic requires manual skills, environmental awareness, concentration and accuracy.
