Program Objectives

This program aims to train the student to respond to the needs and demands of different work environments of a paralegal technician. The student must demonstrate the appropriate personal and professional attitudes for the legal field (autonomy, judgement and discernment, analyze judicial decisions, sense of observation, efficiency, discretion and ethics, etc.) as well as their ability to manage their time and to work with purpose.

Les intentions éducatives du programmes visent deux préoccupations: d'une part, développer chez l'étudiant et l'étudiante l'esprit juridique essentiel à la profession ainsi que le sens de l'éthique et du secret professionnel qui assurent la qualité et la légalité des interventions dans les différents milieux du droit civil, pénal et administratif; d'autre part, former des personnes capables d'exercer leurs compétences dans différents milieux ou professions ainsi que dans les situations de travail nécessitant de bien gérer son stress pour agir avec promptitude et tact.

Total length of training includes general training that is common to all programs for 420 hours, general training for this program for 150 hours as well as complementary general training courses for 90 hours.


Duration of training consists of theory and lab work for courses; personal time that the student invests is excluded.

Paralegal

Paralegals assist lawyers, notaries, court clerks, etc., in their duties.
