Objectifs du programme

Automotive detailing technicians perform a variety of cleaning and restoration tasks on a vehicle, both inside and out, in order to restore it to its original condition or improve its appearance. This may entail thoroughly inspecting a vehicle, maintaining certain components, maintaining and dressing accessories, maintaining the engine bay and trunk, installing antitheft devices, cleaning the interior and exterior of a vehicle, removing stains and dying fabric and leather, applying preventive protectants, sealing and polishing dashboards, waxing and polishing surfaces, touching up paint by hand, applying rustproofing treatments, etc.

Conditions d'admission et préalables

To be eligible for admission to the Automotive Detailing program, candidates must meet the following requirements:


- Have earned Secondary III credits or the equivalent in language of instruction, second language and mathematics
OR
Hold an Attestation of Equivalence of Secondary Studies (AESS)
OR
Have successfully completed the General Development Test (GDT) without specific prerequisites
- Be at least 18 years of age
OR
Meet the eligibility criteria for Emploi-Québec’s Manpower Training Measure
(This STC is eligible for the TCST-STC bridge)

Admission requirements for the TCST-STC bridge

The admission requirements for the TCST-STC bridge are identical to those that apply to the TCST-DVS bridge:
- Hold a TCST;
AND - Be at least 16 years old on September 30 of the school year in which you start vocational training;
AND - Have earned the required credits in language of instruction, second language and mathematics in Secondary Cycle 1 in general education in the youth sector or in Secondary II in adult general education.

Les esthéticiens et les esthéticiennes de l’automobile nettoient, cirent, polissent et restaurent l’intérieur et l’extérieur des véhicules. Ils entretiennent certains accessoires, posent des technologies antivols et appliquent des produits antirouille. Un emploi comme esthéticien de l’automobile réclame une personnalité méthodique et méticuleuse. C’est un métier stimulant qui exige une excellente dextérité manuelle et le souci du travail bien fait.
