Objectifs du programme

The objective of this program is to prepare the individual to work as a bus driver in the five key industry sectors: urban transportation, school transportation, inter-city transportation, charter transportation and adapted transportation. The training allows the individual to earn a class 2 licence issued by the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec.

Conditions d'admission et préalables

A person who meets the following conditions is eligible for admission to a program of study leading to an STC:
1. Has obtained at least Secondary III credits or the equivalent in the language of instruction, second language and mathematics;
or Has obtained an Attestation of Equivalence of Secondary Studies (AESS);
or Has successfully completed the General Development Test (GDT) with or without specific prerequisites.
2. To comply with the requirements of the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec for obtaining a Class 2 licence.
Important note: Some employers require you to be 21 years of age upon being hired.

Admission requirements for the TCST-STC bridge

The admission requirements for the TCST-STC bridge are identical to those that apply to the TCST-DVS bridge:
- Hold a TCST;
AND - Be at least 16 years old on September 30 of the school year in which you start vocational training;
AND - Have earned the required credits in language of instruction, second language and mathematics in Secondary Cycle 1 in general education in the youth sector or in Secondary II in adult general education.

Conducteurs d’autobus

Les conductrices et les conducteurs d’autobus conduisent des autobus dans les cinq secteurs clés de l’industrie : le transport urbain, le transport scolaire, le transport interurbain, le transport nolisé et le transport adapté. Ils veillent à la sécurité des usagers et à l’inspection régulière de leur véhicule. C’est un travail exigeant qui plaira aux personnes autonomes, capables de gérer leur temps et qui aiment conduire. Le métier de conducteur d’autobus exige une bonne vision, de l’endurance physique et de la courtoisie.
